The Jacksonville Area Arts Council will award a scholarship in the amount of $750.00 to the applicant who best embodies pursuit of the arts, whether it is through music, visual arts or the performing arts, to be awarded to the recipient's college for one school year.

Brittany Baxter, (circle photo), was a 2014 JHS Senior and JAAC's first Scholarship recipient. With Music and Education as her career path, Brittany used her scholarship toward her first year at TJC.
Eligible applicants should be current residents of Cherokee County as well as graduating high school seniors, high school graduates, or GED recipients.
Jacksonville Area Arts Council invites all interested scholarship applicants to complete and return the Scholarship application form along with a 90 second video articulating their 1) education goals, 2) career plans and 3) ambitions for the future.
Board members of JAAC will select the winning applicant after reviewing all of the applications and videos submitted by April 14, 2017.
Completed applications and videos should be mailed to: Jacksonville Area Arts Council, P.O. Box 8406, Jacksonville, TX, 75766. Again, that deadline for submission is April 14, 2017.
Jacksonville Area Arts Council will announce the winner of this scholarship by May 15, 2017 and publish their decision in a follow-up news release after that date. The Scholarship winner will be notified with JAAC congratulations and follow-up instructions to ensure they will able to utilize the award this year.
